Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is a full body treatment focussed on relaxation, energising the body & helping the body to heal itself. It uses effleurage, petrissage, percussion & tapotement movements to work the muscles. I will design a massage which will work to achieve your individual needs & objectives. We can focus or skip specific areas as the body requires, work with pressure points, passive movements & lymphatic drainage to decrease tension & clear toxins.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is a targeted treatment designed to release chronic tension, alleviate deep-seated muscular tightness, and support long-term mobility. Using slow, sustained pressure and specialised techniques that work into the deeper layers of muscle and fascia, this massage helps break down adhesions, improve circulation, and restore natural movement. I will tailor each session to meet your individual needs and objectives, focusing on specific areas of concern, incorporating trigger-point work, and stretching as required to encourage lasting relief and optimal function.

Aromatherapy
Reflexology

Aromatherapy is a light relaxing massage using essential oils. Essential oil molecules are small enough to pass through our capillaries into our bloodstream. By massaging them into the skin we aid the body with a variety of physiological & psychological benefits. These may include: vasodilation, improved mood & sleep, ease stress, anxiety & depression, improved quality of life, pain relief & fighting bacteria. Each treatment we will catch up & work with relevant oils & a bespoke routine to suit your individual needs.

Reflexology is a form of massage which relies on working into reflexes on the hands, feet & ears to benefit the different systems of the body. The body's energy can get blocked & physically manifest as tension causing health problems. In reflexology we read the feet & target these areas through reflexes to achieve homeostasis. Reflexology is great for those who feel self conscious with other forms of massage, those with reduced motion or who have an injury which cannot be massaged directly.

Reflexology is my favourite treatment to give & I will gladly give further information to anybody interested further.

Reiki

Usui Reiki is a calming, hands-on energy healing practice that helps you relax, release stress, & feel balanced. Developed by Dr. Mikao Usui in Japan, Reiki works by gently channelling universal life-force energy through my hands into the your body, helping to clear blocks and support natural healing.

In a typical session, you’ll stay fully clothed and either lie down or sit comfortably while I place my hands lightly on or just above different areas of your body or chakras. Many people report feeling warmth, tingling, or a deep sense of calm as the energy flows.

Reiki is often used to help with stress, tension, pain relief, faster recovery, and emotional blocks..

Common Questions

What length treatment should I choose?

60- 90 minute treatments are usually perfect for an adult in good health. This can be adjusted shorter for preference, or for those who are older/ younger or with health concerns. Each treatment also includes a consultation lasting an additional 5-20 mins and feedback & aftercare lasting 5-10 mins.

How should I prepare?

Arrive clean and wear comfortable clothes and arriving at the time of your appointment, not beforehand.

Are treatments personalized?

Wear whatever makes you comfortable, this could include underwear, vests & loose fitting clothes. Bare in mind the areas of the body which need to be accessible to your massage therapist. For example jeans are fairly restrictive during a back massage.

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Yes, I sell gift vouchers for any length treatment with optional add-ons of personalised aromatherapy blends.

What is a consultation?

A discussion of lifestyle, health, allergies, aims & objectives before each treatment. Here we will make sure there are no contraindications to treatments and can make adjustments to the session as well as plan the treatment itself.

What should I expect after a session?

You may feel deeply relaxed, refreshed, and more balanced overall. Its also possible to experience a healing crisis. Visit our contraindication section for more information. It is beneficial to keep all oils on until your next wash to keep receiving their therapeutic effects.

Aftercare

Advice of what to do following treatment.

After your treatment your body will enter a rebalancing phase called homeostasis. To aid your body in this process, try to follow your specific aftercare as well as this general aftercare as closely as you feel able.

Homeostasis

Rest

Try to avoid strenuous exercise for the next 12-24 hours. This will allow your body to rest and protect your muscles.

Caffeine & alcohol will undo the relaxation effects of the treatment so try to avoid these for 12-24 hours.

Avoid drinking coffee & alcohol

During treatment your systems will begin flushing your body of toxins. This process may sometimes make you feel a little worse for a short period of time and is referred to as a healing crisis. Do not worry it shouldn't last very long before you feel better.

Healing Crisis

When muscles are worked you can lose water & electrolytes. Drink water regularly to rehydrate following treatment.

Stay Hydrated

Avoid Sunbeds & Sun Exposure

If any phototoxic oils have been used in your treatment avoid UV exposure to look after the skin & avoid burning.

Eat Light Meals

Eat light meals the day following your massage to allow your body to focus on healing & eliminating toxins.
